Welcome to Smoke In Chimneys' Prayer Room & Personal Retreat Cabin.

 
 

Tucked away in the National Forest, set along a quiet private stream, and with a beautiful view of the mountains, you can unplug, reconnect, and spend valuable time in a prayed-over and anointed space. Located a quarter mile away from the hatchery, you will have the privacy and peace of staying amidst God's creation, while also gaining a unique Smoke In Chimneys experience.

Guests have the ability to walk along the quiet stream, spend time with homestead animals, or take a self-guided tour of the trout hatchery. Private access to the spring house, with the gushing artesian spring, is a favored and blessed space for encounter. We invite you up into the mountains, back along the creek, and into a consecrated space especially prepared for you to meet and rest with the Father. 

 
 
 
 

  • Prayer Times: 5-6pm every Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday // 12894 Little Mountain Rd. New Castle, VA 24127

    We have scheduled prayer times throughout the week that are blocked off for communal use, you will not be able to stay during these days but are welcome to come early before your check in to join us in prayer.

    If you are seeking encouraging prayer or prayer for healing please also sign up for a time slot during your stay that Ty and Shannon can meet with you and pray for you.

  • In the entryway we have House of Prayer prompts to help guide you in prayer or with your time with the Lord. We also have numerous books to encourage you in your walk with the Lord and information sheets on harp and bowl prayer, scripture singing, and blessing.

    Please feel free to use the music stand, guitar, and/or speaker for your time in worship.

  • This space is totally unplugged meaning no wifi or internet is provided.

    Internet data often does not work in this space (Wifi and Internet can be accessed 5 min away in town at the library or cafes).

Enjoy the view of the mountains as you walk along the creek, or interact with the farm animals (cows, sheep, barn cats, and chickens). Give yourself a self guided tour of the hatchery just moments away where you will see our spring raised trout, meet our friendly fish-guarding livestock dogs, and maybe catch a moment with owner and operator Ty Walker.

Across the street you have exclusive access to view the artesian spring that feeds our property with the beautiful 1930s spring house and hatchery buildings. This space is for you to enjoy our beautiful mountain landscape and experience first-hand the Smoke In Chimneys hatchery/farm operation. Kitchen

A full fridge and freezer, stove-top and oven, and everything you need for coffee, baking, cooking, or setting the table is provided for you.

Living Space

Two comfortable chairs, a cozy couch, and floor pillows make this space extra relaxing. The high ceilings and natural light create an elevated yet warm atmosphere. A bookshelf of our favorite farm and prayer books and a large speaker (and guitar) for music or worship is provided for you. This space is uniquely set with a cowhide rug from our first dairy steer we raised here at Smoke in Chimneys. A vintage globe and pictures of over seas remind us of the nations and our connection with others.

Bathroom

This bathroom is a unique bathroom, fully wooden walls with a tub and shower, a large vanity mirror with hidden shelves and local photography and art. Freshly washed linens and extra toiletries are provided for you.

Pasture & Hatchery

Pastureland right on the property is home to our homestead animals surrounded by electrified wire. Shannon works with the animals daily so if you catch her she can help facilitate some interaction with them!

Dining Room/Entryway

Our midcentury inspired dining table atop a Smoke In Chimneys raised cow-hide welcomes you into the space. Here you will also find the microwave and our entryway table. The entryway table holds information about the surrounding area, prayer prompts for those looking for more of a guided personal retreat, and our contact information

Bedroom

This petite bedroom is luxurious yet cozy with light blocking curtains and a comfortable queen size bed. A closet and laundry hamper with hangers make the space functional while greenery and candles keep this room light and romantic. Local photography and vintage prints give this space and unique Virginia vibe.

Sunroom

The sunroom is tucked behind the cabin for a perfectly private but beautiful space where you can look on Virginia wild flowers out of the floor to ceiling windows. This space also includes a day bed with a trundle bed that can lift to make a king size bed but is also the perfect reading nook with plenty of natural light.
